Kongu Association of North America (KANA) is a registered tax-exempt 501(c) non-profit organization founded in North America. Kongu Vellala Gounders are a community of people originating from Kongu Nadu, a region in South India, the western part of Tamil Nadu, with rich culture.

  • Preserve, nurture, and promote the rich culture and way of living of the Kongu Vellalar Community.
  • Engage Kongu Youth to promote and carry forward KONGU culture and way of living among Kongu next generation
  • Help and propagate cultural, educational, social, economic, and community affairs of the people of KONGU origin in North America.
  • Organize periodic South Indian literary, cultural, and educational conferences in the North American continent to promote KONGU culture.
  • Foster brotherhood and togetherness among people from KONGU backgrounds and others
  • Organize, unite, and gather Kongu people to celebrate traditional festivals and customs as a community.
  • Raise, solicit and collect funds and donations either directly or in cooperation with other organizations for cultural, educational, and charitable purposes in North America and worldwide.
